Established in 1961, Amnesty International is a human rights organisation whose purpose is to protect individuals wherever justice, fairness, freedom and trust are denied. They work to achieve human rights for everyone in two main ways: a/ promoting general awareness of human rights and the values contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as other internationally agreed human rights standards and b/ opposing specific abuses of human rights through research and action. Amnesty International is a campaigning organisation with 2.2 million members worldwide.

Global Witness exposes the corrupt exploitation of natural resources and international trade systems, to drive campaigns that end impunity, resource-linked conflict, and human rights and environmental abuses.

Human Rights Watch www.hrw.org

Human Rights Watch is dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world, to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect people from inhumane conduct in wartime, and to bring offenders to justice while investigating and exposing human rights violations.

Refuge www.refuge.org.uk

Refuge is a national charity in the United Kingdom for women and children experiencing domestic violence, working to provision them a numberof services (national help line, safety places, counselling, etc.), helping prevent violence through campaigning, education, training and research, and advocating having the legislation in this area enhanced and the changes implemented.

WITNESS www.witness.org

WITNESS is an international human rights organization that provides training and support to local groups to use video in their human rights advocacy campaigns. Beyond providing video cameras and editing equipment, WITNESS is committed to facilitating exposure on a global scale. Once a video is made, it can be used as a tool to advocate for change. "See it, Film it, Change it" is their motto.
